Reading Royals take top spot after City of Bristol have points deducted

Reading Royals A were crowned 13-15 years free team routine champions after City of Bristol were deducted two points which cost them the gold medal.

That allowed Reading Royals’ A team of Rachael Newman, Tara Dakovic, Beatrice Crass, Molly Sexton, Lottie Moghul, Martha Crowland, Rebecca Saunders, Madeleine Brown and Amelia Gelder to take the Swim England Synchronised Swimming National Age Group title with 123.3864 points.

It turned out to be a one-two for Reading as their B team of Madison Squire, Jessica Smith, Eleanor Blinkhorn, Mia Palmer, Claudia Connellan, Emilia Wood, Alexandra Thickett, Madeleine Staples and Charlie Razzell scored 122.9038 to take the silver medal.

Edit. (not quite sure why the Swim England report is headlined the way it is. There was only .14 of a mark in it before the penalties. Chances are without one or two of the lifts the judges may not have scored Bristol’s the way they did.)
